Whose Interest ?

Its no longer news that the senate & d presidency are fighting a cold war over the leadership of EFCC.The SENATE appeared to be winning the war base on technicality of due- process( no thx to EZEKWESILI ).But, why the battle for the soul of the commission?.EFCC is,according to OBJ's action, a political weapon of war!.Whoever owns EFCC controls the politics of Nigeria and determines who gets invistigated for financial crime and who works away free.
Whatever Yar' adua's intention is, is not known.The politicians(serving) needs to protect their spoils.In other to achive that,they need to appoint their own(a loyal dog) to head the HEADLESS commission!.An eternally grateful person that will not come close to the commission unless asked to deal with an errant member.
The Abuja based politicians also need to cow the guv'nors and opponents in their respective state.EFCC is more like a nuclear bomb,own it and you are untouchable,ask OBJ!. The presidency needs it to cow the legisture,the guv'nors and most likely its percieved opponents.Until the constitution spell out in clear terms,how one can ascend to the apex of the commission,until the politicians decided not to seek personal betterment the cold war will continue unless resolved along party line.
